I’ll be the first to say that I do not know much about this lovely Christmas tradition.

On a whim, I decided they would be a charming little addition to our Christmas Eve dinner table. Each is filled with a little trinket or two, but with a little planning and thoughtfulness, I could envision these presents being the best of all.

Here’s what you need:

Scrap fabric, measuring approximately 9x12 inches (a smaller pattern works best, in my opinion)

Coordinating ribbon

Fabric scissors

Tissue paper

Toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll, cut to size)

Small (very small) gift

Pinking scissors (optional)

How to assemble:

Wrap your small gift in the tissue paper and fit it entirely inside the paper roll.

Next, cut your fabric to size, depending on the size of your roll. I allowed my fabric to overlap a bit, so keep that in mind while measuring and cutting!

Using my pinking scissors, I trimmed the edges of my fabric so they had interesting ends, but this is, of course, optional.

Then, wrap your fabric around the roll and use your ribbon to tie a bow on each end.

That’s it, the end!
